What Does it Mean to be a Metlife Dentist?
As a MetLife dentist, we have established a relationship with this insurer. Part of our agreement is that we will charge the fees outlined by MetLife for all of the covered dentistry services. That means you’ll only ever need to pay the out of pocket costs for treatment. Dental practices that are not in-network with your MetLife preferred provider organization (PPO) plan can charge higher fees. MetLife will still provide coverage, but you will need to pay the difference in the dentist’s cost and the insurers standard fees as well as your out of pocket costs. In most cases, differences in pricing our minimal, but with an in-network dentist, you never need to worry about these additional costs.
What Service are Covered by Melife Dental Insurances?
Every dental insurance policy represents a unique contract, and patients and/or their employers are given options to elect specific coverage, which affects their monthly premiums. Without looking at your individual policy documents, we can’t tell you exactly what coverage you’ll receive from MetLife for dental care. However, most MetLife plans provide the following:
- Preventive dentistry – 80 to 100% coverage
- Restorative dentistry – 50 to 80% coverage
- Orthodontics – 20 to 75% coverage (when elected)
- Other services – not usually covered but plans vary
